Carpeting Stairs

Posted on February 25, 2014 at 3:25 pm

Carpets can be a tricky business to get right. Getting the colours right can be particularly difficult. It requires you to take into account the overall design of the room you are installing it in, and also making sure that it isn’t something which can be destroyed easily. Picking the appropriate carpet for a staircase can be even more difficult. When you are installing a carpet in a room, you only have to consider the one room, but on a staircase you need to take into consideration both the upstairs landing and the downstairs room, multiplying the potential issues. Add to this the added pain of installing a carpet on a staircase, then you have a far more costly undertaking than when you are carpeting a flat plane. Usually, when installing a carpet on a staircase, much of the issues can be resolved just by using more pins, to pin the carpet to the ground in the appropriate places. However, when the staircase is circular, or with a lot of turns, getting it right can be made more tricky, requiring you to break the carpet up into sections.

Carpets – A Must have for a Cosy Living Room

Posted on January 22, 2014 at 1:36 pm

A living room should be comfortable, warm and cosy because it’s a place to relax and unwind, and a living room without a carpet is not entirely comfortable and cosy in our eyes.

Stepping onto a soft carpet before making your way to your sofa is comfortable, rather than having cold tile or wood flooring, which means slippers are always a must. Carpets are always going to popular because they’re the most welcoming type of colouring, and today stains can be cleaned whilst maintaining them is just as simple as running a hoover over it every once in a while.

The majority of people in the UK will have a living room with a carpet, and it’s the cosiness it brings to a room which makes it the most ideal type of flooring. You’ve also got an array of colours and thicknesses so your choice can be specific to your home and your requirements.
